Hello, I’m Henry and I’m the Bovey Birder. I’m 14 and I’m a passionate birder. I love everything nature related and I hope to have a career in conservation/research or something ornithology related when I’m older!
I started this blog as a personal project during lockdown, when birdwatching became a really important daily activity for me, although I’ve been birding since I was about 4, when I got an eye spy birds book and my first pair of binoculars, and since then I’ve been hooked.
I live in a town on the edge of Dartmoor and am very lucky to have many great birding sites within walking and short driving distances from home. From garden blue tits to Zitting Cisticolas, every bird I’ve spotted has brought me great
At 11, I won the Zeiss Young Birder of the Year Award at Global Birdfair (11 and under), it was fantastic to be recognised for my dedication to birds and it has made me more determined to follow my passion throughout my life (plus I won some amazing binoculars!).
You can also find me over on instagram as @TheBoveyBirder
Happy birding and thank you for visiting my blog.
